Site: A guided tour of this mysterious, abandoned Swahili town from the 15th century. You will explore the Palace, the Great Mosque, and ancient residential houses. Tip: Hire one of the local site guides for the most insightful historical context. Keep an eye out for the friendly resident monkeys!

Visit the small onsite museum showcasing excavated artifacts. Depart the ruins.

The drive between Gedi Ruins and the Mida Creek area (near Watamu) is short.

Start your creek experience with a walk on the famous boardwalk. This allows you to walk into the mangrove forest, enjoy birdwatching, and reach the popular Crab Shack for lunch.
