Day-by-Day Itinerary

Pick up from your hotel. The drive to Tsavo East (Voi Gate/Bachuma Gate) takes approximately 3 to 4 hours.

Day 1

Enter Tsavo East National Park. Begin a relaxed en-route game drive towards your lodge. This morning drive focuses on the open plains, home to large herds of plains game.

Arrive at your safari lodge or tented camp (e.g., Voi Safari Lodge, Ashnil Aruba), check in, and enjoy lunch.

Day 1

15:30

Drive out for the main game viewing session. Key areas to visit: Aruba Dam (a lifeline for wildlife), and the open savanna to spot the iconic "Red Elephants" that bathe in the park's dust.

Day 1

Return to the lodge as the sun sets over the vast Tsavo plains. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

An essential early morning game drive to catch the cooler hours when predators like lions and cheetahs are most active and likely to be hunting or returning to rest.

Return to the lodge for a full breakfast, followed by check-out.

Drive out of Tsavo East and transfer to Tsavo West National Park (via Mtito Andei Gate). This cross-park drive is scenic, shifting from flat plains to a rugged, volcanic landscape.

Arrive at your Tsavo West lodge/camp (e.g., Kilaguni Serena, Ngulia Safari Lodge), check in, and have lunch.

Head out for the afternoon safari, starting with a visit to the volcanic Shetani Lava Flow. Next, visit the iconic Mzima Springs to view hippos, crocodiles, and fish from the underwater viewing chamber (accompanied by an armed ranger).

Day 2

Drive through the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary area. The late afternoon is the best time for a chance to spot the endangered Black Rhino.

Day 3

Enjoy one last game drive in Tsavo West's dramatic environment. Focus on the rocky terrain where animals like the klipspringer thrive, and keep an eye out for elephants and buffaloes in the thicket.

Enjoy a final safari breakfast, pack up, and check out of the lodge.

Begin the departure drive. Depending on your route, you may stop at a scenic point like Poacher's Lookout for a last panoramic view of the park.

Exit Tsavo West and begin the drive back to the Coast (approx. 4–5 hours) or Nairobi (approx. 4 hours).

Drop off at your chosen destination (hotel, airport, or train station), concluding your safari adventure.
